Back 2 School Make-Up

It's that time of year again, when parents are preparing for the start of the school year, teenagers are twittering about what to wear on the first day of class and college students are packing their gear to move back to the dorm. What are these young women and mothers of teenagers putting in their cosmetic bags?  Well, in keeping with the current Vampire trend, many of these young ladies are choosing a mineral make-up aptly called Youngblood.  Named for the creator of the product and not any recent vampire dramas, this is a go to make-up line for women of all ages. Made of micronized, highly reflective crystals, this mineral cosmetics line reflects light to smooth fine lines and blemishes. And since mineral cosmetics are made with pigments from the earth, they're much healthier than cosmetics containing petroleum dyes. Which is great for young girls who may be experiencing their first blush of hormones to more mature women who are worried about the appearance of fine lines.  And this cosmetic line has it all; from concealer and foundation to eyeshadow and lips, they have you covered.  Or more appropriately - enhanced.
Are you a Mom who has a teenage daughter who is just beginning to dabble in make-up?  Why not throw a make-up party for her and a few select friends and their mothers? This allows you and the girls to experience a new make-up line as well as give the girls some tips on how to look their best without overdoing it.  My friend Christine, owner of Full Circle Massage, Aesthetics and Yoga, is doing just that for Back 2 School Moms and daughters. But beware, you both just may enjoy the make-up so much that you find yourself sneaking into each other's cosmetic bags.

Cucumber of the Sea

La Mer is launching a new Eye Balm in October and even though it does not contain cucumber as one of the ingredients, it does have that refreshing feeling of just placed cold cucumber slices.  For those of you who have ever experienced a sleepless night, the sensation of chilled cucumber on the eye is revitalizing.  And La Mer has managed to capture that sensation in a jar.
The New Eye Balm Intense, debuting in October, contains three forms of the Original Miracle Broth, The Lifting Ferment to encourage greater firmness around the eye, and The Marine De-Puff Ferment, is what gives the product it's amazing cooling sensation.  And which by the way, works amazingly well at eliminating that early morning, lack of sleep, uncomfortable distention around the eye.  I also love the product for it's lightweight feel, texture (smooth like velvet), and obvious results. Priced at $145.00 it's less expensive than a visit to the "doctor" and it lasts longer. Thanks LaMer, for helping women Live Their Beauty.

LaMer Eye Balm Intense is debuting in October on line and in select retail stores:  Saks Fifth Avenue, Nieman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman
