Light Up Your Life

Now that I am done working on the now famously fabulous movie "Cougar Hunting", I can get back to the real business of taking care of myself. And that means - in addition to practicing yoga, playing outside, eating well and painting - finding new, fun beauty products that help me look as fabulous as I feel and then share that knowledge with you.

Even though this product is not new, it is one of my "absolutely can not live without" favorites and just happens to be the #1 selling beauty product in the world. YSL Touche Eclat. Everyone should have one of these babies. This product instantly gives a sparkle to the eye area and a lift to the face. Technically not a concealer, it should not, therefore be used as one. It is an eye brightener and facial highlighter. Applied in the "moon" area of the eye it gives an instant sparkle and lightness to the eye. Applied over make-up, above the brow gives the face an instant lift. And when applied on the lips and the surrounding area not only helps the lipcolor last longer but also gives your mouth that Angelina pout that we have so come to love.

This product comes in 4 shades and works extremely well with Cle De Peau Concealer but also can be used alone. When choosing your perfect shade remember to go slightly lighter than your skin tone. That is how you achieve the highlighting effect.

So skip on down to your nearest YSL counter and and add a little highlight to your already light mood.

Lashes Galore

A huge shout out to MAC cosmetics for their support of "Cougar Hunting". Their product donations help keep our cats looking sleek. Especially when it comes to lashes. False lashes translate beautifully onto film, opening the eye and creating a slightly more dramatic, glamorous look. We have been using them on all our starring ladies. Including this local Snow Cougar Star Varga.

If false lashes have intimidated you don't let them any longer. They are great for daily use or a big night out on the town. Easy to apply and and long wearing; false lashes can take your look from natural to straight up Glam. For a more natural lash effect try the individual lashes from MAC or the #7 strip lashes. For a more dramatic effect go for the #21 or #34 strip lashes.

Tips for application:
In addition to the lashes, make certain you also have DUO adhesive for the application process. This particular surgical glue dries clear and is favorable to even the most sensitive skin.
False lash application is easiest once all of your other make-up has been applied.
For individual lashes, pluck the lash out of the container with tweezers, dip the dotted end in the Duo adhesive being careful not to use too much glue. Apply from the outside of the eye inward until the desired effect has been created.
For strip lashes the application is a tad bit different.  Take the lash out of the container and hold it up against your eye with the shortest lashes toward the inside. Measure and trim any lash that is over extending past the outside of the eye.  With a q-tip gently apply Duo adhesive to the strip of the lash being careful not to use to much glue. Allow the glue to dry on the strip for about 15 seconds before applying to the lash line.  This will ensure the lash doesn't slip around while you are placing it. Once adhered apply MAC Fluidline eyeliner along the lash line for a finished look.  You can also trim the strip lashes into halves or quarters and use on the outer edge of the eye for a more flirty look.

Be like Marilyn and bat your eyelashes with these #7s from MAC.
